Coral Restoration Snorkel Tour
What to expect?
After your arrival and registration, we will start with an introduction to all things coral and a short safety briefing, before taking the boat out to a pontoon where you will learn how to attach coral fragments to an artificial structure, called reef star. Once all coral fragments have been attached, it's time to get into the water: Put on your snorkeling gear and jump right in! You can watch how the new reef stars will be added to the reef as our divers install them on the seabed and discover the Reef Restoration site!
Once you are done snorkeling, we will take the boat back to Padangbai where a delicious lunch will be served!
What to expect?
After your arrival and registration, we will start with an introduction to all things coral followed by a safety briefing. You get to change into your diving gear and, if this is the first time diving, you will get to know your personal instructor as well as the basics of scuba diving. When you are ready, we will take the boat to the pontoon anchored above the Livingseas Reef Restoration site. From here we start our restoration dives. You will learn how to attach coral fragments to your own personalized reef stars, harvest coral and identify dead fragments.
After your dives, a delicious lunch will be waiting for you!
Coral Conservation UW
Coral Workshop
What to expect?
After your arrival and registration, we will start with a multi-media presentation about conservation and restoration. After a Q&A session, there is time for a little refreshment before you learn how to attach coral fragments to reef stars. These are artificial steel structures that build the foundation of the reef. Our team of divers will later on install your reef stars on the Livingseas Restoration Site. Your workshop will end with a delicious buffet lunch.
Our workshops are tailor-made. Upon request, we are happy to include other components like beach clean-ups or snorkeling. Please reach out for further details.
