After a short briefing where you learn all about coral, you will take a boat ride to Livingseas’ pontoon, anchored above the largest restoration site in Bali. Here you will attach coral fragments to metal structures, so-called reef stars. Then, gear up for snorkeling and dive into the water! While our divers install the structures below, you can explore the vibrant beauty of the restored coral reef.

Experience two of the most intriguing dives you have ever done. Not only will you observe countless marine creatures and stunning reefs, but you will also have the unique opportunity to learn how to plant corals and, with that, help restore a coral reef. Coral Conservation underwater (UW) can be booked as a certified diver or with a Try-Scuba add-on.

After a short boat ride to the coral restoration site, you will arrive at our purpose-built coral pontoon, which serves as a super comfortable entry and exit point to the reef. From here, you will embark on two restoration dives where you will actively participate in building a coral reef. You learn how to attach coral fragments to artificial structures called reef stars.
This experience is designed for certified scuba divers (from any agency such as PADI, CMAS, SSI etc.), and offers a completely new adventure by actively engaging in building a new reef!

You will have the opportunity to participate in a Q&A session and change into comfortable clothes. Next, we take the boat and head out to the pontoon, where you learn how to attach coral fragments to reef stars that serve as the foundation for the reef. Our team of divers will install these reef stars at the Livingseas Restoration Site whilst you have the opportunity to snorkel above the reef. Back onshore, we will wrap up the day with a tasty buffet lunch.

Frequently Asked Questions
Prices for our half-day activities (Coral Snorkel Tour, Coral Conservation UW) depend on the components you want to book. Prices start at IDR 650,000 per person for a snorkeling experience. Reef stars can be purchased for IDR 460,000 per piece.

Well, let's talk about plastic.... An estimated 14 million tons of plastic waste ends up in the oceans every year. That's the equivalent of over 25 garbage trucks dumping 1 ton of plastic waste into the oceans EVERY MINUTE OF THE DAY.
One of the best things you can do is reduce your plastic waste by lowering your plastic use and re- or upcycling. You will preserve natural resources, protect the environment and save money.
Livingseas Foundation is an Indonesian conservation non-profit organization which works to preserve and rebuild coastal and marine ecosystems.
